Wholesale Terpinolene Terpenes – The Insomnia Fighter

A Close Look At Terpinolene Terpenes

Terpinolene is one of the more unique terpenes in existence, though it still shares many similarities with other terpenes. It smells great, has beneficial properties outside of the body, and has many uses inside the body as well, such as fighting cancer and reducing the effects of insomnia. Of course, similar statements can be made about nearly every terpene, but let’s look at Terpinolene more closely and consider how it stands out.

A Brief Introduction To Terpinolene.

Terpinolene has a very powerful and pleasant woody scent. If you’re a fan of wood and smoke aromas, then you would definitely be a fan of oils containing this terpene. As with most terpenes, it is found in high quantities in cannabis. However, it is found in many other plants as well. You will find it in the tea tree, in apples, and in cumin.

It’s a very common terpene but has only recently seen much attention from scientist and medical researchers. They have remained fixated on some of the other, more well-known, terpenes that are found in cannabis. Meanwhile, Terpinolene fell to the wayside. That is until recently. It’s now the subject of a great many studies.

Many of these studies have focused on the medicinal uses of this terpene. What have these studies found? Does Terpinolene have any legitimate medicinal uses? Here are the answers to those questions.

Medicinal Uses.

Firsts, it’s important to note that nearly all terpenes work as either an analgesic or as an anti-inflammatory. Many of them actually work as both of these. Terpinolene, on the other hand, does not serve either of these functions. This makes it rather unique compared to the growing family of terpenes.

As mentioned earlier, it still shares many similarities with other terpenes. For example, it has the potential to reduce the harmful side-effects of cancer. It also has powerful antibacterial and antifungal properties. This makes it very useful inside and outside of the body.

It also works as a sedative. Its ability to fight insomnia is perhaps one of its most powerful medicinal uses. This effect can be strengthened by combining it with other terpenes that have a similar use such as cannabinol. In summary, here  are the medicinal uses that it is currently known to provide:

– Anti-proliferative.

– Anti-fungal.

The studies are still ongoing and new medical uses are being discovered all of the time. It is currently being studied by multiple institutions for its antimicrobial properties. Some studies in the past have revealed the terpene to have antibacterial properties, but no study focused fully on those properties.

Likewise, some studies have been performed on products containing Terpinolene but failed to identify if the Terpinolene was responsible for the benefit. Tea tree oil is one such substance that was studied frequently. In 1995 it was found to work as a powerful antimicrobial solution. Now scientists are trying to determine if those properties come from the Terpinolene or from the other terpenes like linalool that are present.

It has been studied in regards to its impact on cancer cells as well. A very recent study was performed in 2012. This study showed that Terpinolene was effective at downregulating specific cell proteins, which reduced the rate of growth of cancer. A similar study was performed in 2013 that yielded even better results.

The impact it has on heart health is also a subject of debate and study. Many professionals believe that it can be used to reduce bad cholesterol levels in conjunction with certain vitamins. Whether it’s used for its scent, to fight cancer, to improve heart health, or to repel mosquitoes, Terpinolene has proven itself to be a very useful terpene.
